"an addictively-delicious voice...a writer who is somehow both wildly cool and deprecatingly humble at the same time."
—Mellisa Bruder, author of The Pisces
Throughout the week of April 5–9, Oakland-based writer, musician, dancer, filmmaker, and performance artist Brontez Purnell, as The Poetry Center's 6th Mazza Writer in Residence, will be visiting classes as guest artist throughout the SF State campus, and presenting two public programs. The first is a solo afternoon, a featured longer-scale reading and conversation, Wednesday April 7 at 4:00 pm Pacific TIme. And for the concluding event of the Mazza residency, we'll bring together four Bay Area based queer artists and writers, friends of some 20 years, for readings and a round table discussion, on Thursday April 8 at 7:00 pm Pacific Time.
Supported by the Sam Mazza Foundation.
